xOverview "Crystal Scallop" is a textile artwork of peak craftsmanship. It uses an innovative 3D ribbon embroidery technique to sculpt soft, gradient-colored ribbons into relief-like "shells," which are then "inlaid" upon a brilliant "seabed" completely covered in crystals and pearls. Craft Details
3D Ribbon Work: The soul of this fabric. Each "shell" is meticulously handcrafted by artisans who pleat, shape, and stitch ultra-fine satin or organza ribbons, which themselves feature a soft, watercolor-like ombre.
Crystal Beaded Ground: The "negative space" between motifs is lavishly and completely covered by hand with tens of thousands of crystals, pearls, and seed beads. This creates an incredibly luxurious texture, like sugar or crystal sand.
Beaded Accents: Parallel lines of fine beads are stitched onto the 3D ribbon shells, further enhancing the texture and refinement of the motifs.
